Living Room
Our individual styles mash(clash)-up living room.
Looking at our old lounge, just ONE word comes to mind: Grey. Many, many shades of grey. I tried to improve the décor with a different rug and cushions, but it didn’t make a dent in all that grey. It is like I thought: ‘Just one more cushion will do it, surely.’
This is often the case when you and your partner don't agree on design styles - you go for the safest option (one neither of you like) or you do nothing and just live with it.
This was absolutely the case with our living room. My husband and I are opposites when it comes to interior design styles and colours. I like muted, pale colours, while The Hub likes dark, rich colours.
I used my interior design process to help us agree on a design and colour palette for our living room that we both love. I also share the (not so) secret tool that gives you the assurance that your mashed interior design styles will result in a cohesive scheme.
Read all about it in How to Create a Cohesive Home With Your Partner When Your Design Styles Clash (possibly the longest blog title in the history of blog titles but it also contains a lot of pictures and an insight to my design process).
